United Kingdom signed the Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence
Good news: On 8 June 2012, United Kingdom signed the Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence. It then became the 20th member state of the Council of Europe to sign the Convention.
From these, only 13 EU countries have also signed the Convention since its opening for signature last May in Istanbul.
To know if your country signed the Convention:
Up to now, only Turkey ratified the Convention – it needs 10 ratifications to entry into force. So, we still have to press our countries!
