The new report on domestic violence against women in South Baltic Region has been launched
With a great pleasure NEWW Poland is presenting it’s newest publication „Domestic violence in the South Baltic Region: Kaliningrad, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden. South Baltic – Violence Free Zone Project Report”.
This publication is an attempt to present current legal and social situation regarding domestic violence in 4 countries: Kaliningrad, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden, which all participate in the project “South Baltic – Violence Free Zone”. The report presents current statistics of domestic violence cases, also it presents current legal situation in each country.
Very important part of the report is a presentation and description of all programs and activities undertaken in partner’s countries in aim to prevent, stop and punish domestic violence against women. The reports stress one very important thing: “Domestic violence is a crime, and therefore it ought to be treated like one”.
Very important element of the report is also the database of organizations and institution, which deliver help to the victims of domestic violence in four partnering regions: Kaliningrad, Klajpeda, Karlshamn and Pomorskie Province.
