Thank you for your Words of Support and Condolences!
There were no survivors in flight carrying Polish President, his wife and many Polish officials including women whom we knew and who supported women's rights: Izabela Jaruga Nowacka, a feminist and former Plenipotentary of the Polish Government for Equal Opportunities, Maria Kaczynska, President's wife who supported some of our efforts and legendary Anna Walentynowicz who started "Solidarity" movement in Poland.
They were going to Smolensk in western Russia to commemorate the anniversary of the murder of thousands of Polish officers by the Soviet Union at the beginning of World War II.
Polish people and all of us working with NEWW in Poland were devastated by this tragic loss. We received many words of support and condolences for which we are very thankful. I would like to share some of them with you and thank again our colleagues and friends who sent them!

For me, the most tragic blow was the loss of Anna Walentynowicz, a singular female icon of Solidarnosc who the world should have known better.
