UNIFEM's Say No Initiative
UNIFEM’s Say NO initiative is a global platform for advocacy and action, contributing towards the objectives of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s campaign UNiTE to End Violence against Women through social mobilization.
On 25 November 2008, Say NO presented more than 5 million signatures to the UN Secretary-General, demonstrating public support to make ending violence against women a top priority for governments everywhere.
The next chapter of Say NO, geared to launch in fall 2009, will collect and demonstrate actions from individuals, organizations and decision makers everywhere.
Working through traditional as well as online networks, Say NO will engage participants from all walks of life and partner with men and boys, faith-based communities and the youth to raise awareness and prevent violence against women and girls.
