Dear Friends, The Network of East-West Women and its project partners would like to invite you to our final conference on gender budgeting as a management instrument for gender equality at universities at September 17, 2008. We are looking forward to welcoming you at the conference!

Conference:
Bridging the Gap - Gender Budgeting as a Management Instrument for Gender Equality at Universities

With the conference we want to present central findings of our Specific Support Action on "Gender Budgeting as an instrument for managing scientific organisations to promote equal opportunities for women and men - with the example of universities" which is funded by the European Commission, 6th Framework Programme, and co-ordinated by the Women's Academy Munich. Together with stakeholders and experts at a national and

European level we want to discuss strategies and perspectives for implementing gender budgeting with a focus on the area of higher education and research.

On the basis of profound analyses of the specific situation in Austria, Germany and Poland we developed instruments and measures for the implementation of gender budgeting in scientific organisations. As part of the support action we adapted a selection of instruments and measures to the specific situation of the three co-operating universities. By comparing the three countries and the co-operating universities we have been able to extrapolate our findings and to contribute to an European gender watch system.

Time: Wednesday, September 17, 2008
