Successful Equality Days for Gays and Lesbians and Gay Pride Parade in Warsaw - Poland. 10-12 of June. Equality Days comprised of a series of meetings, conferences, and cultural events focusing on the social, professional and political position of Polish homosexual people.

However, the highlight event was the Equality Parade which has become the most controversial issue of last three weeks. On 11th of June 2005 about 2500 gays and lesbians and supporters from many segments of the society, incl. human rights activists, feminists and many VIPs marched in the very center of Warsaw starting in front of the Polish Parliament. The Parade took place despite the fact that the Mayor of Warsaw banned it, violating the right to freedom of assembly and was the biggest ever. Last year the Mayor has also banned the Parade. The goal of the event was to highlight the problems faced by homosexuals living in the Catholic Poland. The opponents argued against the Gay March as a promotion of "homosexual lifestyle".

Some top politicians joined this illegal Gay Parade: Deputy Prime Minister Izabela Jaruga-Nowacka, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Tomasz Nałęcz, two German MPs from the Green Party - Claudia Roth and Volker Beck.
