NEWW is an international communication and resource network supporting dialogue, informational exchange, and activism among those concerned about the status of women in Central and Eastern Europe, the Newly Independent States, and the Russian Federation. NEWW coordi-nates research and advocacy that supports women's equality and full participation in all aspects of public and private life. NEWW is an NGO in Specific Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. With members in more than 30 countries NEWW is among the largest and most respected networks in CEE/NIS.
She is the Executive Director of Network of East-West Women Polska (http://www.neww.org.pl) and a Board member of Network of East-West Women. Master in American Literature and Linguistics, Gdansk University. Postgraduate studies in political science at Gdansk University. Coordinator of international projects on economic justice, European enlargement and supervisor of project involving training on gender budget for women from CEE/CIS and of Gdansk gender budget analysis.
She graduated from Fachhochschule Stralsund (Germany) and Gdansk Technical University, MA in Management and Economy. In 2002 she worked in Bombay (India) for a non-governmental organisation, SMILE, where she was responsible for the development of the organisation's public relations. Since may 2004 she works for NEWW-Polska on Gender and Economy issues, specifically on Gender Budgeting. She has been the coordinator of Gdansk Gender Budget Initiative.
