FAM - Frauenakademie München e.V. (Women's Academy Munich) supports women to gain equal access and opportunities in science, economics, and politics and in the public. Frauenakademie München supports equal rights and equal opportunities of women and men in all areas of society. It is part of the local, national and international women's movements, has a bias for the support of women and declines all forms of discrimination. FAM Frauenakademie München e.V. is an institution for research, education and consulting. As a scientific research institute it offers space for discussions about feminist theory and its implementation into real life and for the development of feminist ideas and projects. FAM Frauenakademie München e.V. is a network for women who think and act from a feminist point of view.
Dr. Andrea Rothe
Master in American cultural history, psychology and communication science at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. PhD in political science at the Freie University, Berlin and the Ruhr University Bochum. Several studies about gender mainstreaming for example in technical museums and in youth welfare. Gender studies specifically about women and men. Other research topics are the use of the new media by women and men and women in science and technologies. She has been the representative for equal opportunities and equal rights at the Deutsches Museum München (German Museum for Science and Technology).

Political scientist (Free University Berlin) and M.A. in Race and Ethnic Studies (University of Warwick, UK). She is executive director of Frauenakademie München. Main topics of research, publications and public events: Gender budgeting, equal opportunity policies, European integration process. She has several years of work experience in gender related training and organising projects in international contexts. She is co-founder of the civil society group on gender budgeting in Munich and is active in the international network of gender budget groups.
