Social Campaign in Lithuania.

Since July till December, 2010 Kretinga Women's Information and Training Centre organized the social campaign regarding domestic violence. During this period there were published the leaflets including general information about domestic violence and contacts of the institutions and organizations which provide services for victims and perpetrators.
In August, 2010 the Center organized public event in Kretinga town square. The external expert that prepared the regional report regarding domestic violence gave a half an hour lecture including general information about domestic violence, current situation in the region, help and support system for victims and perpetrators. After the lecture there was shown the outdoor movie "Lilja 4-ever".
In September and October, 2010 the Center organized three round table discussions in different district centers (Kretinga, Gargzdai. Silute). There were sixty five participants, including the representatives of municipality, police officers, social workers, representatives of non-governmental organizations. The project assistant informed the participants about the Project of the Law regarding prevention of violence in private space and encouraged discussion about its practical application. After these round table discussions there were prepared the suggestions regarding the Project of the Law and sent to the responsible institutions.
In October, 2010 the Center organized two days seminar on the subject of cooperation networks and its effectiveness in the cases of domestic violence. There were twenty participants, including the social workers from different district centers. The lecturer was invited from Vilnius Maternal and Child Pension. The seminar was focused on the practical working experience of social workers with victims and perpetrators. The seminar encouraged them to initiate or join cooperation networks in order to make their work more effective.
Since the 25th of November till the 10th of December, 2010 the Center joined the national campaign against domestic violence called "White Ribbon". Also the Center was involved in the campaign against domestic violence which was initiated by Vilnius Women's Information Center called "Dress Stories".
In December, 2010 the Center organized the conference on the subject of the current man's situation and its link to domestic violence. There were sixty eight participants, including politicians, police officers, social workers, representatives of non-governmental organizations. Most of the lecturers were men (psychologists, social workers, theologians). Also the above mentioned period the Center published seven articles regarding the project activities in five newspapers of different districts.
Using the photos of trail photo session, which was organized by Kretinga Women's Information and Training center in July, 2010, there was made the informational stand regarding domestic violence. The stand is used in various public events and encourages the intolerance of society for any form of domestic violence.
